It appears, at least as of today (2/25/2013), that Sony has declared VMWare products actively prohibited, in as official a method as you may ever get, CSR/TSR's telling customers they are unable to use VMware any more.

Unfortunately, you will not be able to continue to play EverQuest if you continue to use VMware. You would need to find another way to run Windows on your Mac to be able to play or purchase a PC to play on.Regards,CSR Steven G.Senior Technical Support Representative

Honestly, while I feel for SOE's challenge to keep cheating under control, they're aiming at the wrong tools. VMware is no more a "hacking" or "cheating" tool than VNC, or ACT.
